During his recent visit, Pope Francis demonstrated his love for the Filipino people. Some of his insights:
It feels good to come back to Him whenever we’re lost! God never tires of forgiving us; we are the ones who get tired of seeking His mercy.
Christians have a duty to proclaim the Gospel without excluding anyone. Instead of imposing new obligations, we should share our joy and invite others to His delicious banquet.
More than by fear of going astray, my hope is that we will be moved by the fear of being confined within structures that give us a false sense of security, within rules that make us harsh judges, within habits that make us feel safe. While people are starving outside our doors, Jesus does not tire of saying to us, “Give them something to eat!”
To sustain a lifestyle which excludes others, a globalization of indifference has developed.
Almost without being aware of it, we end up being incapable of feeling compassion at the outcry of the poor, weeping for other people’s pain, and feeling a need to help them, as though all this were someone else’s responsibility, and not our own. The culture of prosperity deadens us.
