Continuing TV drama series are really heating up this month, with one “shocking” development after another to make sure that viewers stay avidly viewing. On “Bagito,” for instance, the mother of the teen protagonist’s love child, Vanessa, has just come back from the States—and taken their baby away from him!

The unexpected low blow makes him and his parents miserable, because they now love the baby boy so much. How dare the heretofore footloose and irresponsible Vanessa suddenly and retroactively experience a surge of “mommy love” and shatter their tiny corner of happiness?!

On the other hand, some viewers understand Vanessa’s change of heart perfectly, and are willing to give her a second chance, now that her heart is in the right place.

So, the show has effectively split its viewers into two disagreeing groups—and that’s great “viewing insurance” for the series, because that means that people will avidly and even rabidly be watching it up to its final denouement! How will it all end?

FEATURED STORIES

Events are also melodramatically eventful on “Dream Dad,” with Zanjoe Marudo mourning his beloved Angel, who’s missing after a plane crash and presumed dead. Will he ever find happiness in the arms of someone new?

And, what about Jana Agoncillo’s moppet character—how will she end up? Will she go back to the orphanage, or will Zanjoe’s parents finally decide to adopt her? —And, what about the third option of her long missing birth mother, who’s just made a (secret) reappearance!

Speaking of missing characters making an unexpected comeback, maybe Angel isn’t dead after all—and is slated to make a really shocking and additionally complicating reappearance?!

Not to be outdone in the “shocking developments” department, “Forevermore” now has a new kontrabida in Mr. Saavedra (Michael Flores), the father of Enrique Gil’s former girlfriend (Sofia Andres), who is bent on buying the farm of Enrique’s new love’s dad—at all costs. The farming community doesn’t want to sell—but now that the buying price has been tripled(!), some cracks are beginning to show in their heretofore unified front.

And, on “Exchange Gift,” its resident married couple, KC Concepcion and Paulo Avelino, who used to love each other to bits, are now older and less giddily happy, mainly due to the interference of their respective in-laws.

Will true love go the distance, despite the cracks in their now problematic marriage? This being a teleserye, a happy ending must be in the works—but, that eventuality surely isn’t stopping the show’s writers from assaulting the lead characters with all of the confounding complications they can think up!
