Pope for the poor
Last Thursday, Jorge Mario Bergoglio aka Pope Francis arrived in the Philippines to visit his avid followers in Manila, as well as the poorest of the poor in Tacloban.
Pope Francis’ concern isn’t just for the impoverished sector, but also for those who suffer from prejudice. He once visited a hospice to kiss and wash the feet of 12 AIDS patients.
Our beloved Pontiff radiates hope. He once said, “Never yield to pessimism! The Holy Spirit bestows upon the Church the courage to persevere and seek new methods of evangelization.” He knows that doing that with a smile rather than a frown is likely to be a more winning strategy. He’s comfortable in his own skin to break the formality of the papacy and display some humor!
