He learned about Sarah’s Disney gig online
Singer-actress Sarah Geronimo was too shy to tell boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli about her recent stint with Disney Pictures. Matteo said he learned about it “in the news,” along with the fans.
“I’m very proud of her, though I found out about it online. I told her, ‘You should be proud; you should have told me.’” The Walt Disney Company picked Sarah to record a version of “The Glow,” from the animated movie “Tangled.” A music video that featured Sarah’s version premiered on Disney Channel on Dec. 6.
The song was originated by British artist Shannon Saunders in 2011 to coincide with the induction of the character Rapunzel (“Tangled”) as an official Disney princess. Other artists in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia recorded their own versions.
At the press conference for the horror trilogy “Shake Rattle and Roll XV,” where Matteo is a cast member, the actor assured supporters that his relationship with Sarah is “nothing but smooth-sailing. There are more positive people around us now.”
Asked how his relationship with Sarah’s parents has improved, the actor said: “Things are good. We’re okay.”
