What would you ask/give Pope Francis if you had a moment with him?
Even before our family thought of praying for it, the Papal Committee invited us to be part of the “Encounter with Families” at Mall of Asia on Jan. 16. My 100-year-old mother-in-law, Remedios Enriquez-Rodrigo, will present a welcome garland and my husband King will read the welcome message on behalf of the families in attendance. I have nothing material and tangible in mind as a gift to or from the Pope. His visit and blessings are his greatest gifts to us. Our love, prayers and Christ-like living are our greatest gifts to him.
I pray I don’t get overwhelmed by Pope Francis’ presence and call him “Sir” instead of “Your Holiness,” as I did in 1981 when my family was chosen for special audience with the now-St. John Paul II. Bayani San Diego Jr.
