This one’s perfect for the season of gift-giving. When Popular Star was still with Cutie Boyfriend, PS’ parents did not approve, so they had to secretly meet at a Common Friend’s home.

PS would also borrow money from CF when she wanted to buy any gift for CB. Her parents would rule it out as an “unnecessary expense.”

To her credit, PS dutifully paid the loan back as soon as she received her regular allowance.

When the couple had a falling-out, PS was upset because CF didn’t warn her about a girl who was coveting CB. PS likewise broke ties with CF.

Razzle dazzle

Now it can be told.

That horrific squabble between Gorgeous Starlet and Industry Insider was just a sham.

GS’ handlers concocted the whole controversy to cover up a bigger scandal that was swept under the rug.

True enough, GS emerged from that fiasco unscathed and bounced back rather quickly.

That was the oldest trick in the book. GS and company razzle-dazzled their way out of the bind.

Left hanging

Now that HH needs help, TFs are nowhere in sight. The job opportunities they promised HH never materialized.

Top of the Talk Shows

For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):

• Aiza Seguerra to wife Liza Diño: “Mahal na mahal kita … kung sino ka at kung ano ka. Gustong-gusto kitang nakikitang lumilipad. At kapag lumilipad ka, mas mataas ang lipad ko.” (Nilalanggam kami!)

• Liza to Aiza: “I’ve never met anybody who embraced my flaws as beautifully as she embraced the beautiful things about me. I’m thankful na ikaw ’yun.” (More ants coming!)

• Dingdong Dantes, asked what he’d miss about being a bachelor: “Sa tingin ko naman po nasagad ko na ang pagiging binata. Ready na ako to settle down … 100 percent.” (Good answer.)

• Dingdong, asked what weird habit of his Marian Rivera would have to deal with once they’re married: “Nag-a-alarm ako ng mga 20 times, every two minutes. Talagang maiinis ang katabi ko.” (You’re right, that’s … alarming.)

• Ara Mina on being a mom: “Bagong buhay, new lifestyle and bagong challenge ang pagiging mom. Since giving birth, siguro mga two hours na lang ako nakakatulog every day.” (That sounds about right.)

• Ara, asked if she and boyfriend Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses plan to get married soon: “Mauuna muna ang binyag ng baby. Siyempre gusto ko sexy ako kapag ikakasal na ako! Saka mas maganda kung medyo nakakalakad na ang baby ko.” (Yes, priorities.)

• Robin Padilla, asked if wife Mariel Rodriguez was jealous of his “Bonifacio” leading lady Vina Morales, who used to be his girlfriend: “Parang mahirap sabihin kung oo o hindi. Siyempre tao ’yun, mahal na mahal ako nun.” (And did she have a reason to be jealous?)

• Vina on Mariel: “Never pa naman kaming nagkaroon ng chance maging close … Sana magkakilala [kami].” (’Wag na lang siguro.)

• Kris Aquino on “Feng Shui 2” costar Coco Martin: “Ang galing niya mag-save ng pera… . Dream kong maging masinop sa pera!” (Well, he kind of had to; on the other hand…)

• Kris on Coco’s acting skills: (’Wag na lang ito; promo na e, not fun.)

• Bimby Aquino-Yap, asked how much gift cash he’ll give “Praybeyt Benjamin 2” costar Vice Ganda for Christmas: “P1 million.” (Parang totoo, considering…)
