Glenda Garcia: Christmas is about making a difference

The colors of this year’s tree are red, gold and silver. My son helped me decorate the tree.

Every year, I celebrate Christmas with my family at my parents’ place. We are a big clan so we serve lots of food for noche buena: lechon, turkey, ham, chicken pastel, shrimp, caldereta, sopas, fruit salad, gelatin and queso de bola.

This Christmas is extra-special because I am also giving thanks and commemorating my first year of being cancer-free. This gift allows me to continue my advocacy of serving and helping indigent breast cancer patients.

Recently, I cooked breakfast for neighborhood kids.

For me, Christmas is about loving, giving and making a difference. I promise to continue helping the less fortunate in my own small way. Bayani San Diego Jr.
