Vilma’s two ‘moms’

Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos marked a double celebration, her 61st birth anniversary and the launch of her pet project, the 7th Ala Eh Festival, at 38 Valencia Events Place recently. The party was thrown by Regal producer Lily Monteverde, whom the actress-politician regards as a show biz mom. After the celebration, Santos’ other show biz mother, Marichu Maceda of nearby Sampaguita Gardens, dropped by for a chat. It was also the perfect opportunity to dispel rumors that Santos snubbed Maceda’s recent reunion bash for Sampaguita Pictures alumni. “I called Manay Ichu to excuse myself from the party. I just had a laser procedure on my nose that same day, to treat an infected insect bite. I couldn’t put on makeup for a while,” Santos explained. Bayani San Diego Jr.
