MANILA, Philippines—The murder of a transgender has become a hot topic with many netizens expressing their views on the case.

DJ Mo Twister, however, got the ire of many netizens for his supposed comments on the official page of INQUIRER.net attacking Jeffrey “Jennifer” Laude.

A Facebook user named Mohan Gumatay (Mo’s real name) reacted to a Philippine Daily Inquirer story on the preliminary investigation on Laude’s murder, saying that Laude “deserved it.”

In the Facebook comment, the user wrote: “Dead transgender prostitutes don’t deserve attention. It’s like a dead rabid dog (that’s) more of an eyesore than worth sympathy.”

While another one read: “Yes prostitute faggots deserve it. Road kill.”

The two comments earned nine “likes” from other Facebook users.

In a separate status, “Mohan Gumatay” posted: “So sick to see the ugly face of that Jennifer [Laude] on posts everytime.”

Netizens screen captured the alleged comments of Mo and slammed him for his “bigotry and insensitivity” and his “homophobic” tendencies.

One netizen said in a Facebook post, “…we shouldn’t just ignore this. This act MUST BE CONDEMNED to the fullest.”

While the account has already been taken down by the user, Mo has also issued a statement denying that the account was his.

Mo posted on Twitter: “To remind everyone, I don’t have a Facebook account so (please) don’t screen grab shit from a fake page & ask me why I said something I (didn’t). =)”

Laude was found dead in a bathroom of a motel in Olongapo City on the night of October 11. Her body was found by a motel employee at 11:45 p.m., about an hour after she checked in at the motel with a foreigner, whom witnesses later identified as Pfc. Joseph Scott Pemberton of the US Marine Corps.

Pemberton has been under American watch at the Camp Aguinaldo since Wednesday.

The DJ-host has been embroiled several times in social media-related controversies for being vocal in criticizing personalities online. Some of his latest targets were the children of detained Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Julian and Jolo, for allegedly living a lavish lifestyle, and Manny and Jinkee Pacquiao for their foray into the PBA.
