2NE1 rejects rumors of group breakup

SEOUL—Idol group 2NE1 rejected rumors that it had split up, saying that they are “ridiculous.”
Rumors of 2NE1’s breakup arose after Minzy changed her Instagram ID “minzy21mz” to “minzy_mz,” deleting “21.” She also deleted “2NE1” in her self-introduction of “official 2NE1 minzy.”
The changes were made after CL announced that she would try to break into the US market with her solo album next year, adding to the breakup rumors.
The agency, however, strongly denied the rumors, calling them “nonsense.”
As the rumors escalated, Minzy changed the status of her Instagram account to “disclosed” and changed the ID back to the original one.
The group is currently holding its world tour “All or Nothing” and will perform in Macau on Friday.
