MANILA, Philippines – Providing a throwback to the glory days of big bands and standards, concert king Martin Nievera takes on the blues, soul and big band styles of the yesteryears – but done with the accessibility of a modern pop album. Titled as “Big Mouth, Big Band,” the new album will be available in November 2014 in all record bars nationwide released by PolyEast Records.

Working with some of the interesting musical minds to emerge in this generation, Martin collaborated with musical director Marvin Querido as he goes down the big band route for the first time.

With impeccably swinging ensemble, Martin’s new album contains recordings of 1980-90s love classics in new musical arrangements written especially for a big-band orchestra. Alternately belting and crooning throughout 12 songs, Martin comes out with highlights including his rendition of Earth, Wind and Fire’s “Sing a Song” and “Every Now And Then”; Kansas’ “Dust in The Wind”; Blue Suede’s “Hooked on a Feeling”; Doobie Brother’s “What a Fool Believes”; Chicago’s “Will You Still Love Me”; Boz Scaggs’ “You Can Have Me Anytime”; Queen’s “Love Of My Life”; Simply Red’s “Stars”; Eagles’ “I Can’t Tell You Why”; Ambrosia’s “Biggest Part Of Me” and Toto’s “I Won’t Hold You Back.”

Watch out for a refreshing and commendable effort by Martin, whose deep love for his craft strengthens with every album through all the years.

“Big Mouth, Big Band” will be released this coming November by PolyEast Records.
