Mikhail Red wins in Vancouver

Filipino filmmaker Mikhail Red won Best New Director for “Rekorder” at the Vancouver International Film Festival held last Thursday in Canada.

A Cinemalaya 2013 entry, “Rekorder” competed in the Dragons & Tigers section.

The fest’s website explained: “This new prize is awarded to a director for a creative and innovative film…We are pleased to help launch the careers of the world’s most deserving and promising young filmmakers.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
