“ZANJOE is one of the reasons I’m happy and content these days,” says Bea Alonzo.

Actress Bea Alonzo says she would rather keep mum and let boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo do the talking about their relationship.

“It’s better that way,” she told Inquirer Entertainment during the recent Tupperware Brands Link-Up Party at the Opus bar in Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.

Bea added that she prefers to separate her show biz work from her private life. “Zanjoe is very much aware of this,” said the endorser of Color Collection, Tupperware’s line of cosmetics. “He totally agrees with me.”

FEATURED STORIES

Bea, 23, and Zanjoe, 29, first worked together in the drama film “Sa ’Yo Lamang” in September 2010. Rumors about their being a couple started circulating early this year.

Zanjoe, while promoting his film “Wedding Tayo Wedding Hindi,” confessed on “The Buzz” that he and Bea are now “exclusively dating.” The two also admitted to vacationing in Paris for two days in August.

“Zanjoe is one of the reasons I’m happy and content these days,” Bea said. “He’s very vocal about how he feels for me. It feels good to know that he doesn’t care about what other people say. To be honest, nakakakilig.”

They were last seen together at the Star Magic Ball 2011 in Peninsula Manila hotel in Makati City.

Bea also denied rumors that Robin Padilla, her leading man in the action-drama series “Guns N‘ Roses,” is difficult to work with. “Wala naman akong napapansin na gan’on. He’s always been very professional. Whatever the role requires, he gives more than what’s expected of him. I’m lucky to be working with an actor like him,” she stressed.

Bea—Phylbert Angeline Ranollo Fagestrom in real life— was born to a Filipino mother and a British father. Her parents separated when she was 4.

She first appeared in the TV drama series “Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay” at age 15. Her biggest break came via the lead role of Betty Pengson in the local adaptation of the Colombian hit series “Betty La Fea” in 2008.

As the family breadwinner, Bea saw the wisdom of investing her earnings in various businesses. “Tita Isabel (Rivas) convinced me to buy a farm,” she said, “which came at the right time because my mom has an existing farm and she wanted to expand. We plan to go commercial soon by selling crops.”

The farm, she pointed out, also allows her to lay back and recharge. “I sometimes get tired of the busy and glamorous life in show biz.”
