Sheryl Cruz portrays another villainess (Monique) in the new drama series, “Strawberry Lane.” She recently disclosed that the lowest point of her life came during her divorce with ex-husband Norman Bustos.

She shares, “We were together for 12 years, but it just didn’t work out. The divorce was finalized in 2010, but it took time for me to recover from it. I needed time to heal.”

When she isn’t in front of the cameras, she finds fulfillment in being a single mom. She shares, “It has its ups and downs, but I’m lucky because my daughter isn’t hard-headed. We make time to bond—we cook and sing together. Or, I play the piano and she sings along. Like my Mom, I want Ashley to grow up happy.”

Aside from “Strawberry Lane,” she’s also busy promoting her latest album, “Sa Puso Ay Ikaw Pa Rin,” whose lead singles are “Mananatili” and “The Last To Know.” She has a Japanese song in the album. She says she learned Japanese in high school: “It doesn’t matter whatever language we use, because music is the universal language—it transcends boundaries!”
