A retrospective of films starring the late actor Mark Gil is set at Greenbelt Cinema 5 in Makati City. Among the films to be shown are: “Batch ’81” (Sept. 22, 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 25, 8:30 p.m.), “Kid, Huwag Kang Susuko” (Sept. 24, 1:30 p.m.), “Bilibid Boys” (Sept. 24, 4 p.m.), “Miss X” (Sept. 24, 6:30 p.m.), “Alon” (Sept. 24. 9 p.m.), “Magnifico” (Sept. 25, 1:30 p.m.), “Philippino Story” (Sept. 25, 4 p.m.), and “Palipat-Lipat, Papalit-Palit” (Sept. 25, 6 p.m.). The retrospective is made possible by My Own Mann Productions Inc., Ayala Mall Cinemas and the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
The Sept. 22 gala is invitational. Tickets for the other screenings are at P100 each.
Gil passed away on Sept. 1; he was 52.
Sister Cherie Gil of My Own Mann Productions told the Inquirer: “Mark lived for his work and craft. Everyone must know this. It is his birth anniversary on the 25th, too.
