Karylle supports beleaguered Billy
“We all go through ups and downs,” said Karylle of “It’s Showtime” cohost Billy Crawford. The singer-actress had yet to talk to Billy; nonetheless, she expressed full support for her beleaguered colleague.
“[Members of the ‘Showtime’ team are] always there for each other,” Karylle said.
Controversies
Prior to Billy’s infamous detention for malicious mischief, other hosts of the noontime show have figured in individual controversies—Anne Curtis’ drunken night-out and verbal spat with Sam Concepcion, Vice-Ganda’s run-in with the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, and Vhong Navarro’s much-publicized mauling (in the hands of Cedric Lee and company).
Not a few show biz observers labeled the series of unfortunate events as the “‘It’s Showtime’ curse.”

Karylle usually just replies, “Let’s wait. I’m very happy for my mom; she’s blooming.”
She approves of Conrad for her mom and enjoys going out with the couple once in a while, Karylle said. “I love hanging out with them. I even tag along on some of their dates.”
No baby plans
Having a baby isn’t among her immediate plans.
She revealed, “Some people tell me to wait for about a year and enjoy the marriage first. Others say I should just let things happen and not fight it because I may have difficulties conceiving when I finally want it.”
Almost six months after her wedding, Karylle said married life has been great so far, and that she’s still on a high.
“We still talk about the wedding and watch the video from time to time,” she said during her recent launch as endorser of Status Hair Salon.
Working in the same field as Yael, Karylle said, encourages her to improve herself as an artist. “He never stops writing songs, and that makes me want to do the same. It challenges me and inspires me at the same time.” She is about to start work on a new album.
