Billy Crawford not suspended from ‘It’s Showtime’, says ABS-CBN exec

MANILA, Philippines– Singer and television host Billy Joe Crawford was not suspended from ABS-CBN noontime show “It’s Showtime” but is only taking a “short break” from his hosting duty, according to a Channel 2 executive.

“There is no truth to reports that Billy Crawford has been suspended from”It’s Showtime. Billy is taking a short break from his hosting duty following the incident last weekend,” ABS-CBN spokesperson Bong Osorio said in a statement Thursday.

Crawford was arrested Sunday for after he barged in Taguig City Police Precinct 7 in Bonifacio Global City drunk and destroyed a glass door.

The host wanted to be detained because he was stressed and wanted to be in a “controlled environment.”
