MANILA, Philippines — From playing the young and quirky character of Cielo San Carlos of It Might Be You (2003), to the teen yet mature and challenging Anna Abella of Magkaribal (2010), to the relived Mara del Valle of Mara Clara (2010-2011), and eventually a role she can call her own, Christina Carlota “Chichay” Tampipi of the hit rom-com Got To Believe (2013-2014), 18-year-old Kathryn Bernardo has surely come a long way.

In fact, today, her reign as “Teen Queen” is no longer confined within the four corners of the TV or the big screen. Recently, the other half of the biggest teen love team “KathNiel” was also featured as a cover girl for the biggest issue yet of one of the country’s leading fashion magazines, MEGA.

The cover girl

During MEGA’s “Big Fashion Issue” launch last September 4, 2014 in Pasig, Kathryn shared with INQUIRER.net that besides acting, she also enjoys doing pictorials “especially with magazines.”

Asked how her experience was shooting with MEGA and the other three cover girls: Erich Gonzales, Julia Barretto and Maja Salvador in South Africa, Kathryn said: “[It was] super fun and yung less than two days namin na stay there (and in our less than two days stay there), nag-enoy lahat (it was enjoyed by everyone).” “Naging close kami because of that (We became close because of that),” she added.

Asked if she has icons she can call her fashion influences, Kathryn was quick to answer American socialite Olivia Palermo and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.
