Born in Aklan in 1981, Francisco Tejada Nacion Jr. has been drawing since age 4. He pursued art studies even while he was completing a degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Baguio. Later, he joined the workshops of Fernando Sena and the Saturday Group of artists.
His works convey his love for his country and its culture. They’re often seen with bright and dark sides. His paintings incorporate new elements like colorful materials woven by ethnic groups in Zamboanga.
You can check out his paintings in the group exhibit, “Horse Power,” on Sept. 12-17 at the LRI Art Gallery, LRI Design Plaza, 210 Nicanor Garcia st., Bel-Air II, Makati City. My own portraits of businessmen in the horseracing industry will be enhanced by Evie Roque’s digital art.
We will be joined by Joy Rojas II, P. Michael Daza, Hermes Alegre, Buds Concovar, Buddy Ching, Omi Reyes, Roel Obemio, Jaime Gubaton and Aner Sebastian of the Saturday Group, and special guest Chef Monchot Ongsiako.
