Cesca Litton claims Balesin wedding bumped off for Heart and Chiz

MANILA, Philippines — Television host Cesca Litton claimed that her wedding at Balesin Island Club was bumped off to make way for the wedding of newly-engaged couple Senator Francis Escudero and Heart Evangelista.
The TV host said this in a statement that came out on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” Tuesday night.
Days after Escudero’s proposal to Evangelista, a certain Ria Gamboa made a post on Facebook criticizing the Balesin Island Club for bumping off the wedding of a friend to accommodate the wedding of a “celebrity-politican couple.” Speculations said that the post was referring to Evangelista and Escudero.
Litton said that she and her fiancé Kyle Kalaw visited the island last May and asked if the date Feb. 14, 2015 was available for their wedding.. They were told that it was available but a few days ago they were told that the venue was booked.
She said they have already made the first round of oculars and they have arranged the ceremony in the chapel, cocktails in Balesin sala and reception at Toscana village.
“We went back to Balesin just last month along with our coordinator and stylist and did a second round of oculars, food tasting, planned table lay-out and sat down with managers to discuss logistics and rooming and again clarified that February 14 is available. It came as a surprise when I received a phone call from my coordinator just last Saturday that Chiz and Heart have been approved for February 14 after they have spoken to the owner Mr. Ongpin to reserve the date,” Litton lamented.
Ongpin is the chairman of Balesin developer Alphaland.
“Had we known that all it took was a call to the owner, then perhaps none of those formalities should have been followed. In all our trips to Balesin and discussion with management asking to receive February 14, we were always told it was available,” Litton said.
“We would not have invested time and money, including flying out our coordinator and stylist, had they informed us that the venue was booked from the beginning,” she added.
In a statement on Tuesday, Ongpin said he offered Escudero and Evangelista to have their wedding at the resort when he heard the news of the engagement.
He said nobody has been bumped off because there was no schedule on February 14.
Also on Tuesday, Escudero denied any involvement in the issue. He said they have not yet decided on a date and venue for their wedding.
Both Litton and Evangelista are former girlfriends of actor Jericho Rosales, who is now married to model Kim Jones.
