MANILA, Philippines – Celebrities and ordinary netizens took to social media to air their grief and condolences on the passing of actor Mark Gil, Raphael Joseph De Mesa Eigenmann in real life, due who to liver cirrhosis Monday morning.
Actress Iza Calzado said that the Gil would be missed in the showbiz industry. Calzado also said that she appreciates the kindness that the late actor showed her.
Paulo Avelino, posted a picture of Gil portraying the role of “Sid Lucero” in the film Batch ’81. He also said that it was his privilege to have worked with the late actor.
Kim Chiu, Zsazsa Padilla, and Bianca Gonzalez also conveyed their condolences to the Eigenmann family through their Twitter accounts.
Netizens also mourned the death of Mark Gil as “Mark Gil” became the top three trending topic in the Philippines on Twitter.
Gil was 52 years old when he died.
He is the father of actors Andi Eigenmann, Gabby Eigenmann, Max Eigenmann, and Sid Lucero. He is also the brother of actors Michael de Mesa and Cherie Gil.
Gil was famous for his roles in various television dramas like The Legal Wife, My Husband’s Lover, and Magkaribal. He also starred in various films like Batch ’81, Magnifico, and The Healing.
