BANGKOK—Popular Thai actor-cum-singer Rattapoom Tokongsup has claimed that he was arrested and fined 5,000 baht (about P6,800) by the South Korean police after he performed an ice bucket challenge on Saturday.

Local residents reportedly called the police, saying an insane man was shouting abusive words that they did not understand, and then he poured water on the road.

Rattapoom also posted photos and video clips of himself doing the popular challenge on various social media sites.

In the clip, he speaks into the camera in the Thai language before taking off his shirt and dousing himself with a bucket of water.

A man in what appears to be a police uniform then appears, and Rattapoom can be seen attempting to explain what he was doing, to no avail.

The man then escorts Rattapoom away holding on to his elbow before asking the video recording to be stopped.
