Hectic telecasting day for ‘teleseryes’

ALONZO. Complicated prospect on “Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon.”

Last week was a particularly hectic and happening telecasting day for ongoing teleseryes, as exciting or even shocking new developments kept viewers on their toes—and switching channels between commercials to see what zingers the competition was coming up with!

On “My Destiny,” the leukemic character played by Rhian Ramos was still very ill, so Carla Abellana’s boyfriend, Tom Rodriguez, felt obligated to pretend that he loved Rhian, Carla’s sister, to boost her flagging spirits, even if it made him and Carla miserable.

The question is, how long can they keep up the sacrificial, “mapagparaya” ruse without tragically wounding their own relationship?

On “Hawak-Kamay,” Zaijian Jaranilla’s character went to live with his long-missing father (Victor Neri), leaving Piolo Pascual and his other foundlings in the emotional lurch. For her part, Iza Calzado had bitten the bullet and decided to tell Andrea Brilliantes that she is actually not Iza’s kid sister, but her daughter!

At first, Andrea quite understandably lashes out at Iza for deceiving her all these years, but it looks like they will eventually come to terms with their radically revised relationship.

Trouble is, Iza’s dad (Leo Rialp) is angry at her for making the belated revelation, which could traumatize the child, so healing their relationship could take a longer time.

On “Sana, Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon,” Bea Alonzo’s “pretend” character, Emmanuelle, appears headed toward a romantic encounter with Paolo Avelino—but, the prospect is really complicated, because he’s actually her real husband (as her true persona, Rose, whom everyone believes expired in a car crash many years ago.)

Another major complication is the fact that Paolo’s wife now, Maricar Reyes, is the series’ official main villain, so she clearly won’t let go of her hubby without a major struggle—to the death!

Finally, on “Ikaw Lamang,” KC Concepcion’s wedding has been aborted due to her fiance’s duplicity, she’s met up with Coco Martin’s new character, Gabriel, it’s been established that he will vengefully make her fall for him to get back at her family’s horrible acts against him—so, the stage has also been set for a major confrontation as the warring families’ strife is extended—to the next generation!
