MANILA, Philippines – The live action film of Japanese manga series “Lupin III” will hit Philippine theaters next month, SM Cinema announced.
The trailer of the movie was uploaded on Thursday by SM Cinema’s Facebook Page and said that it will screen the movie starting September 17.
Shun Oguri, who has starred in Japanese television series including “Boys Over Flowers” and “Gokusen” that also became popular show in the Philippines, will star in “Lupin III.” His nemesis will be played by Jerry Yan, who also starred in “Meteor Garden,” a Taiwanese series which also became a hit in the Philippines.
The movie will premiere in Japan on Aug. 30.
“Ruroni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno,” another Japanese live action film also based on a widely known manga and anime series started showing in the Philippines last Wednesday, Aug. 20.
