Alice Dixson in ‘wow’ land
Alice Dixson makes (age) 44 look really good. She elicited “oohs and aahs” as she sashayed on the catwalk as one of FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women recently. Life, indeed, begins at 40. Let Alice lead the way:
How do you maintain your good looks and figure?
Exercise, lots of sleep, yoga, massage to relieve stress. I take vitamin supplements because sometimes I can’t eat healthy when I’m on the road. I hydrate and moisturize.
What’s your advice to women over 40?

What makes a man sexy?
I love tall men! I like them smart, too, but not too serious… and well-traveled. Give me someone I can work out with, and also play chess with.
How’s your heart these days?
How can I answer that without sounding cynical? I am still recovering from past hurts. Although I can forgive, I do not easily forget. Maybe that’s my worst trait. It takes me a long time to trust again.
When do you plan to fall in love again?
It will take time. Although I’m an independent [woman], I dream of growing old with someone.
From Maegan to Ka Freddie
After two months of the Aguilar family feud, Maegan, Ka Freddie’s “Anak,” has decided to make peace with her dad.
Since I broke the news of their squabble, I’ve prayed that they’d soon kiss and make up. Family is family.
Through her Aunt Marlene (who handed it to me), Maegan shares with Inquirer readers a letter to her dad, dated July 13, 2014.
We are printing it in its original form to keep the sentiments intact. No doubt, even before they could say sorry, they’ve already forgiven each other. That’s what a father-daughter relationship is about.
Love you, ’Tay
Dear ’Tay,
Kitchen queen
Former beauty queen Sabrina Artadi would rather wear an apron than a crown and cape these days. But she’s no desperate housewife. Sabrina shares her passion for cooking in her show, “Sabrina’s Kitchen,” on the Asian Food Channel.
She’s dubbed the Philippines’ Nigella Lawson because she cooks from the heart and does not follow a strict set of rules.
In her show, she emphasizes the use of efficient kitchen equipment “I’m coming from a single mom’s point of view,” she said. “I have to be practical. These days, my gadget of choice is the induction heat (IH) cooker, which saves time and money because it cooks faster and consumes less electricity.”
Just like Sabrina, you can spare yourself from headaches next time your electric bill comes.
