The crunchy guitar riffs, the pulsing bass line, the frenetic pounding of the drums, and the primal screams let out by the vocalist–all these are the strong musical qualities heard loud and proud from Linkin Park’s newest single “Guilty All The Same”.
“Guilty All The Same” is such a stand-out track from the band’s newest album ‘The Hunting Party’ which is their sixth studio-release.
Here, in this single, we find exactly the kind of music coming from Linkin Park that many of us loyal fans have been waiting for it to be like, again!
In more ways than one, “Guilty All The Same” can be categorized also as an old school 90’s rock track.
Why so, you ask? It is because as you are listening to it, it feels like you are thrown into a mosh pit! It is rough around the edges. It is raw. It is “in your face” music which makes you forget that you are in the year 2014!
Plus, what a smart choice for a guest artist it has–Rakim!
By the way, Rakim is a name which should be very familiar to old school hip-hop fans.
Rakim, one of the all-time hip-hop greats, provides his exceptional rap skills alongside Linkin Park in “Guilty All The Same”. His guest spot is like the “icing on the cake” for this track that showcases the band sounding at its strongest once more!

What is the overall meaning of this single?
Linkin Park’s finally going against conformity and taking a stand against their oppressors are illustrated in lines like: ” You’re guilty all the same/ Too sick to be ashamed/ You want to point your finger/ But there’s no one else to blame.”
Just hearing these lyrics from Chester Bennington gave me goosebumps! And I dare say, these lines are directed to the “know-it-all’s”, to the so-called “music intellectuals”, and to the rabid naysayers of Linkin Park who think they should know more than the band!
Looks like the band couldn’t take it anymore…
And so, Linkin Park–one of the greatest bands to have debuted in mainstream music in the last 20 years–have finally found their voice again!
Thumbs Up !
