Controversial ‘teleserye’ ends at its peak

VILLAREAL. Time to put a stop to cheap gimmicks.

Anna Marie Mijares, wedding planner: “‘The Legal Wife’ has its share of memorable scenes, dialogue and quotable quotes. It has taught viewers from all walks of life lessons on love, relationships and marriage.

“Marriage should be built on love. To love someone means to always be there for each other. I’d like to congratulate its cast and production team for an excellent job, and for the wise move to end the series at its peak.”

Other notes:

Gilbert Dee, graduate student: “Many of our very good-looking actors don’t act well and just make porma. They think that their looks will compensate for their inability to sink their teeth into the roles they’re portraying. If that’s the case, they should just be fashion models, instead!”

Virgie Barrera, televiewer: “On ‘Ikaw Lamang,’ how could Samuel (Coco Martin) remain unscathed, with no trace of injury and without a strand of hair unruffled after that raging fire? —Only in the Philippines!”

Lito Morales, businessman: “Good job, MTRCB chair Eugenio Villareal, for summoning ABC-CBN executives to a meeting regarding ‘Pinoy Big Brother’s’ nude painting challenge. The board invoked its Memorandum of Understanding with TV networks for the positive and nonderogatory portrayal of women in television. It’s time to put a stop to cheap gimmicks for the sake of high ratings!”

Marylinda Capillan, housewife: “I am happy that Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati have finally revealed that they’re now proud parents to baby Zion. I reserve my bouquet of praises for Sarah, for going through with her pregnancy in favor of stardom.”
