Soul mates

IGUAL AND ROQUE. Opposites attract

The 1970S film, “Love Story,” starring Ali McGraw and Ryan O’Neal, popularized the line, “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” The beautiful relationship depicted in its story could describe the bond forged between Evie Roque and Manuel Jose Igual.

“We’ve known each other for 16 years,” Evie recalls. “Tolo made me so happy! His closest relative once told me, “You’re the best thing that happened to him!’”

Good idea

Their good friends thought that bringing the fun-loving Tolo and the vivacious Evie together was a good idea. Their closeness was made more special by their fondness for dancing, especially after they found each other “single” again. Despite the 20-year difference between them, they enjoyed each other’s company—they had found each other’s soul mate!

Their friends embraced the relationship, enthused at how Evie, the homebody, and Tolo, the party person, could be so good together—like opposites strongly attracting each other! Tolo may have gone ahead to the great beyond, but his and Evie’s love story defies time and death.
