Bianca Gonzalez: Carla is a decent girl

“Carla is a decent girl. From what I know of her, she’s not capable of (cheating),” said TV host Bianca Gonzalez. She came to the defense of actress Carla Abellana, who is rumored to have broken up with actor Geoff Eigenmann because of Bianca’s fiancé, basketball star JC Intal.

“Since I was away for a while, I only knew of their breakup through social media. I haven’t met Carla personally,” said Gonzalez, who got a surprise marriage proposal from Intal at the airport, on the day she left for London in March. The couple, together for three years now, is scheduled to tie the knot in December.

“I guess it (security) comes with age,” the 31-year-old stressed. “It’s also because I’m friends with some of my exes. I will not keep JC from befriending his former partners.”

Gonzalez revealed that the wedding ceremony still required “concrete” planning: We’ve only agreed that it would happen in December, since my family [abroad can be here] at that time. We’re still discussing [possible] principal sponsors,” she shared with reporters during the recent press conference for the reality show “Pinoy Big Brother: All In” (ABS-CBN, 9:50 weeknights), which she cohosts with Toni Gonzaga.

Gonzalez said she also wondered about work opportunities after the wedding. “This was my first question to Tito Boy (Abunda, her talent manager) and to Direk Lauren (Dyogi, ABS-CBN TV production head). I wanted to make sure I’d still get a job after I’m married. They didn’t answer and laughed at me instead,” she said. “I guess getting married will only be like graduating from certain TV programs. I definitely don’t want to stop working.”

Would she be interested in acting? “I think it’s too late for me; I’m happy with hosting and writing.” Gonzalez, who used to host the early morning magazine show “Umagang Kay Ganda,” is also the regular host of Cinema One’s “News Alert.”

“More than anything, I’m thankful that I still have Cinema One. Entertainment news is really my forte,” Gonzalez said.
