Wowie de Guzman vows to stay strong for daughter
MANILA, Philippines—When Wowie de Guzman’s wife passed away on April 26, the former actor not just lost a wife, but one whom he considers his partner in everything he does.
In an interview with a local entertainment talk show on Sunday, a teary de Guzman said that his source of strength was daughter Alex Rafeal, who was born a month before his wife Sheryl Ann Reyes passed away. Reyes, who died allegedly after taking a pain reliever, was laid to rest in Pampanga on Saturday.
“If I get weak now, my daughter would be so helpless,” de Guzman said in Filipino. “What happened was very painful, but I have to remain strong for her.”
De Guzman said that he would still pursue the dreams that he and his wife wanted for their young daughter.
