Camille Prats is no drama queen

PRATS. “I don’t put myself in situations where people can bash me.”

Camille Prats is one tough cookie. When we asked her how she deals with problems, she said, “I don’t thrive on melodrama. The big ‘drama’ happens in the privacy of my room or in the toilet—that’s where I cry over problems. Then, I move on.”

The former child star has been through so much, but Camille is “only” 28 years old. She was 5 when she joined Little Miss Philippines, and 7 when she began appearing on “Ang TV” before her big launch to stardom via “Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa.” She got married at 23 and was widowed when her husband succumbed to cancer only three years later.

She relates, “I don’t have as many haters as some other celebrities, perhaps because I don’t put myself in a situation where people can bash me. I’m always cautious about my decisions in life, and I’ve learned to get what I want without stepping on other people’s toes.”

What advice does she give her brother, John, about love? She shares, “Magkaiba kami ng brother ko because he’s a guy. It’s OK for him to enjoy his bachelorhood before settling down. His past relationships simply didn’t work out. I know how hard he tried to make those relationships work.

“My advice to John: Life is short, so live it the way you want to. Set your boundaries—and make sure that you’re doing the right thing!”
