2 Taguig courts bar media on Vhong Navarro’s case
MANILA, Philippines–The Taguig courts handling the cases filed by actor Vhong Navarro against Cedric Lee and six others have barred the media from monitoring the progress of the case.
Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 74 is handling the grave coercion case against Lee, his sister Bernice Lee, Deniece Cornejo, Simeon Raz, Jose Paolo Gregorio Calma, Ferdinand Guerrero and Sajed “Jed” Fernandez Abuhijleh while the Regional Trial Court Branch 271 is handling the serious illegal detention case.
During Tuesday’s hearing on the motion for judicial determination of probable cause filed by Lee, members of the media were denied access the Taguig Hall of Justice. The security said both MTC Branch 74 and RTC Branch 271 both gave instructions not to allow the media inside the building.
