PARTICIPANTS expected an adventure—and got what they wanted!

“Batanes is a breathtaking and truly magnificent manifestation of God’s grandeur,” Carmen Viloria, who joined our Batanes Photo Safari with her husband, Ben, recently wrote about her experience. “Its beauty, as well as the friendly Ivatans, more than made up for the minor inconveniences, such as inadequate toilet facilities, difficulty to get on and off shuttle jeepneys, hostels with so-so food, etc.

“Skyjet accommodated 90 passengers. We were prepared to get drenched on the trip to Sabtang Island, a 40-minute boat ride on a falowa—and we weren’t disappointed!

“We had great company: Mandy was fun to be with, and there were foreigners with us—a Russian, Portuguese, American, Indonesian and a young couple from Beijing.

“Our group stayed at Batanes Seaside Lodge. We bonded well and intend to reunite on April 22 at the home of Geri Villa for a Spanish dinner.

“Did I enjoy the experience? Yes. We traveled safely and nobody got sick, even if the group included about a dozen senior citizens. The whole trip was an answered prayer!”
