Manunuri’s Gawad Urian finds a new home in Cinema One

CINEMA ONE is now the new home of Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino’s (MPP) Gawad Urian Awards.

Cinema One and MPP, in cooperation with Film Development Council of the Philippines, are producing the award-giving body’s annual program, its 34th, which airs at 6 p.m. on May 17 from the Marriot Hotel in Newport City, Pasay.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Cinema One, a pioneer in digital cinema that retains the free spirit and cutting edge in today’s national cinema,” MPP head Rolando Tolentino said.

Tolentino said Cinema One’s offer to produce this year’s Gawad Urian “insured the independent spirit of the awards.”

The program will be hosted by member/TV host Butch Francisco and comedian Ai Ai de las Alas.
