‘Nuwebe’ competes in Queens

Joseph Israel Laban’s “Nuwebe” is competing in the Queens World Film Festival in New York City. An entry in last year’s Cinemalaya, “Nuwebe” is nominated in four categories: Best Narrative Feature, Best Director of a Narrative Feature (Laban), Best Actress (Barbara Miguel) and Best Actor (Jake Cuenca). The fest will be held in the United States from Tuesday till March 9. Bayani San Diego Jr.
