‘Mater Dolorosa’ in French festival

Adolfo Alix Jr.’s “Mater Dolorosa” is competing at the 16th Deauville Asian Film Festival, to be held in France from March 5 to 9.

A Cinema One entry in 2012, “Mater” features Gina Alajar as the matriarch of a crime family.

Alix told the Inquirer that the Deauville jury will be headed by award-winning French filmmaker Claire Denis. Bayani San Diego, Jr.
