Fil-Am Malaya Watson makes it to American Idol’s Top 13

MANILA, Philippines—The Filipino-American contestant of American Idol, Malaya Watson, made it to the Top 13 of America’s most famous singing competition.

Watson, 16,  made it to the Top 13 as announced on Friday February 21, (Philippine time).

Watson made an outstanding rendition of “Hard Times”, the song popularized by Ray Charles.

After giving an outstanding performance during the competition, she got positive remarks from the judges of American Idol 2014.

She was included in the top 13 after being voted by the viewers as one of the Top 5 girls and one of the Top 13 performers of American Idol Season 13.

Watson will advance to the next round of the competition.
