Valentine’s Day is over but love is still in the air (so I choose to hold my breath till March, since Cupid has played too many tricks on me… hahaha!) especially for these celebrities who seem to have met their perfect match.
Even if you are “lover-less” like me, you are not “loveless” if you celebrate all the love in your life. Apres tout,
V-Day is also for family and friends who love us not only because of, but in spite of …

Yan (Marian Rivera) and I spent the Valentine weekend in Balesin Island. It was our time to recharge. We spent quality time away from it all, talking about stuff we don’t normally discuss.
As for the coming wedding of Karylle and Yael Yuson, I sincerely wish them the best that love can offer. They are blessed. Everyone deserves ultimate happiness.

I had a basketball game on Feb. 14 that ended at around 10 p.m. I thought it would be only me and my girlfriend Michela (Cazzola) having dinner at her place. She surprised me by inviting my close friends, who came out at midnight from the bedroom, where they hid, to greet me a happy birthday. So it was a Valentine celebration and birthday salubong in one. What I love most about Michela is that I can bring her anywhere. She’s down-to-earth, walang kaarte-arte! I will never forget our trip to her homeland, Italy. It was my first time there. She toured me around. I was amazed at how beautiful Italy is. We don’t plan to marry yet; we just enjoy each day as it comes.
I spent my birthday with Bimby and Josh. Time spent with them is priceless. It had been a while since I saw my son. We drove around The Fort and ordered take-out food from Bimby’s favorite fast-food chain. If I had my way, Bimby would join show biz only when he’s a bit older. I feel he’s still too young. But I respect his mom’s decision about that. Besides, I see my son enjoying it.

Since Reg (Regine Velasquez) had a Valentine show with Martin Nievera she got to watch mine the day after. We gave each other flowers and a token. My show was about broken-hearted people (“Samahang Walang Ka-Valentine”), whom I advise to stop looking for the next one. We should pray for the right one.
(Ogie paid homage to his late father-in-law, Mang Gerry, in his concert, by singing “Saan Ka Man Naroon” in front of Regine and his mother-in-law. He gave them bouquets of roses. “Thank You for teaching us how to love, Papa,” Ogie said as Reg and her mom started tearing up. Such a touching moment; it moved everyone to tears.)

Robin and I didn’t exchange Valentine gifts. For us, every day together is a gift in itself. We celebrated with Pinoys we met in Sweden. They invited us to their home and prepared food for us. From Stockholm, we flew to Gallivare, the mining capital of Europe, to find out the truth about the sinkhole (200 foot-wide open pit, a natural phenomenon also called “hole leading to hell” because its depth remains unmeasured), since we were both intrigued by it.
We have a photo with two sinkholes behind us. I had a hard time smiling because my face was frozen.

I had a shoot for “Matanglawin” in Batanes, which doubled as a Valentine date. I didn’t want to spend the weekend alone, and my wife Feli volunteered to join me. We got to see Batanes from the locals’ point of view. We went fishing, trekking and made sugarcane wine. It was exhausting but definitely worth it. It was chilly, too—around 10 degrees!
