MANILA, Philippines–Musician Isko Cordero, one of Tado Jimenez’ fellow council members in the artists advocacy group Dakila, said Friday the comedian set off for Bontoc to embark on a personal project called “40 Mountains Project.”
“He and other artists were supposed to do a podcast and interviews in the mountains,” he told the Inquirer by phone. “But he didn’t disclose further details about it.”
The poster of “40 Mountains Project” features a quote from Jimenez which says: “Life begins at the mountain.”
Cordero said that Jimenez’ body is yet to be transported to Manila, and that Dakila is currently coordinating with the comedian’s family.
“Hindi pa makausap nang maayos ‘yung family niya,” Cordero said.
Jimenez is also one of the founding members of Dakila, “which aims to educate on social issues through different art forms, said the group spokesperson Ayeen Karunungan.
Dakila is headed by writer-musician Lourd de Veyra, also one of Jimenez’ friends.
