Quality education

On Sept. 21, 1922, Dr. Ramon Reynoso Sr., then governor of Marinduque, established the Malindig Institute Foundation Inc. in response to the growing demand for quality education for cash-strapped students.

The death of its founder and the devastation wrought by natural calamities dealt a severe blow to the institution, until it availed of the government’s subsidy programs for private schools in the ’90s.

Importance

Gov. Carmencita Ongsiako-Reyes stresses the importance of getting a good education to her constituents. Outstanding Marinduqueños who graduated from the institute include Gen. Alexander Aguirre, Ambassador Antonio Lim, TOYM awardee Maximo Ricohermoso, DOST Undersecretary Francisco Fellijar, Fidel Paz and bar topnotcher Ramon Reynoso Jr.
