MANILA, Philippines—The mauling on actor Vhong Navarro was apparently too traumatic an experience that the actor remains too scared to be left alone, his manager Chito Roño said.
“There were moments that he is afraid to be left alone. He always wants to have friends to talk to,” the film director told reporters in a televised interview Friday.
Roño on Friday met with police over their request for police detail in Navarro’s residence, especially after an unknown man was said to have visited Navarro’s house after he appeared on television.
Navarro was embroiled in a celebrity scandal that fixated public attention when the actor was allegedly beaten up by a group of men that included businessman Cedric Lee in the condominium unit of model Deniece Millet Cornejo in upscale Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
Navarro and Cornejo were allegedly having a sexual affair, although the 22-year-old model said she was raped by Navarro. Lee denied beating up Navarro.
Roño added that Navarro would undergo a brain check-up.
But so far, the television host and actor is recovering although he was supposedly feeling some pain on his side, Roño said.
Navarro had just had an operation on his nose, which was badly damaged in the beating incident, the manager added.
Asked for Navarro’s reaction on reports that other women were also raped by the actor, Roño said they prevented Navarro from watching television so that he could rest.
“We want him to sleep as much as possible because of his traumatic experience,” he added.
