MANILA, Philippines—Even the upscale landscape get its fair share of petty violence.

Vhong Navarro was tied-up and attacked by a group of men inside a condominium unit at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig on Wednesday, according to his manager.

Chito Roño, a film director and Navarro’s manager, said that a female friend invited the television host to visit her in her condominium unit and was subsequently tied and beat up by a group of men upon his arrival.

“Justice must be given to Vhong Navarro for the inhuman treatment he received from unnarmed thugs,” Roño said in a statement.

The director added that Navarro was threatened and was a victim of extortion and his camp has yet to determine the motive behind the attack.

Roño said that Navarro would be temporarily gone from the noontime show “It’s Showtime” to treat his injuries. With a report from Bayani San Diego Jr., Inquirer Entertainment
