‘American Idol’ returns for 13th season on Star World

MANILA, Philippines – The latest season of singing contest “American Idol” is set to air at 6 p.m. live on “Star World.”

“The most successful reality TV show returns for its 13th season for another round of bombastic performances from hundreds of aspiring singers aiming to be American Idol,” “Star World” said in a statement.

Returning as judges in this season are country sensation Keith Urban, who was in Season 12, and pop superstar Jennifer Lopez, who left the show in Season 11.  Rickey Minor also returned as musical director.

The show also welcomed a new judge multi-awarded singer Harry Connick Jr., the statement said.

“These four celebrities together comprise a powerhouse of talent and experience in the entertainment industry that will see the show’s contestants through as they sing their way to becoming the next American Idol,” it added.

The show would feature the auditions in Salt Lake City, Utah; Detroit, Michigan; Atlanta, Georgia; Boston, Massachusetts; Austin, Texas; and Omaha, Nebraska, the statement read.

The show will have encores at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
