’12 Years A Slave’ wins best drama Golden Globe

LOS ANGELES – Harrowing drama “12 Years a Slave” won the best drama film Golden Globe on Sunday, at the climax of the first major Hollywood awards show of the season.

The movie, about a free black man sold into slavery in 19th century America, beat “Captain Phillips,” “Gravity,” “Philomena” and “Rush,” although it did not win in any other major categories.
