LOS ANGELES – Leonardo DiCaprio won the best actor Golden Globe for a musical/comedy film on Sunday for his role in Martin Scorsese’s epic “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
The “Titanic” star beat Christian Bale (“American Hustle”), Bruce Dern (“Nebraska”), Oscar Isaac (“Inside Llewyn Davis”) and Joaquin Phoenix (“Her”) in the category at the 71st annual Golden Globes.
DiCaprio paid tribute to his fellow nominees, telling the audience at the Beverly Hilton: “If any actor wants to follow the filmography of a great artist, take a look at Bruce Dern’s work.”
The 39-year-old actor, who plays real-life corporate raider Jordan Belfort in the film, also paid tribute to Scorsese, saying: “You’re a risk-taker and a visionary.”
