AUNOR. Has she changed for the better?
“Nora Aunor is indeed one lucky superstar,” says Julie Flores, an admirer: “She has been down and out so many times, but she’s been able to rise above those turbulent periods.
“Everything seems rosy after being away for eight years. Her TV5 miniseries looks promising, with her favorite director, Mario O’Hara, at the helm. I hope he will limit or eliminate altogether her hagod acting style, which has been fodder for impersonation, and is no longer funny.
“The ball is now in Nora’s hands – she must disprove her detractors’s contention that she hasn’t changed for the better!”

Thelma Catalan, office employee: “Some local TV shows need to get their act together in terms of information dissemination, like what happened in a segment of an early-morning program. Both host and guest spent a lot of airtime discussing the merits of an ointment that cures kulugo (warts) – but, they forgot to mention its brand name.

“Just recently, another morning show featured a restaurant that serves breakfast meals. Again, so much airtime was taken up – but, no word was said as to the name and address of the restaurant. Ano’ng akala nila sa mga viewers, manghuhula?
Lester Katada, musician: “GMA 7’s ‘Protégé’ is commendable, because it doesn’t just feature young singing talents but ‘seniors,’ as well. But, the panel of mentors could have been improved with the inclusion of great singer-performers like Dulce, Lea Salonga and Rico Puno. And, please spare us the contestants’ emotional back stories – just let them sing!”
Baldwin Kho: “Kudos to ABS-CBN’s ‘Patrol ng Pilipino’ for featuring the Ramadan in a recent telecast. Features like this are needed so everyone gets to know and understand Islam!”
