Praying for a girl

Soon-to-be-mom Kristine Hermosa is wishing for a baby girl. “That’s what Oyo and I have been praying for,” she told the Philippine Daily Inquirer during the recent Star Magic Ball at the Peninsula Manila. She attended the annual event with husband Oyo Sotto.

Kristine, 27, is five months pregnant with their first child. “We still don’t have a name. We want to make sure of its gender first,” said the actress, who looked very elegant in a two-tone dress by Francis Libiran.

Oyo, 27, admitted he was still in awe that he’ll soon be a daddy: “I’m happy, nervous and afraid all at the same time. Maybe I’ll be better assured when Tin gets her 4D ultrasound next month.”

He talks and reads stories to the baby every night, Oyo said. “I feel bad when I’m at work and can’t do it some nights. We also make the baby listen to classical music.”

Kristine said Oyo has become “extremely caring.” She explained: “He has always been thoughtful … but our relationship is more intimate now. It’s a lot clearer to us that we’re husband and wife. We used to act like buddies.”
