We must continue to be strong. Christmas is the season of giving and sharing. Not celebrating Christmas would be like losing faith and hope. “Yolanda” left destruction in its wake, but it also brought not just our country, but the whole world together. We should help the survivors get back on their feet. Helping them this Christmas would be a great start.

Yes, Christmas is enough reason to celebrate. It is not about giving and receiving material things. The birth of our Savior is the light of hope that is

available to all—rich or poor. It is about receiving Jesus Christ in our hearts so that we can be saved from all earthly limitations.

Yes, the family will not be complete because some of us lost a dad, a son or a daughter to the earthquake or typhoon, but we should also be thankful because we survived. Let’s not lose hope. Filipinos will find a way to celebrate. My Christmas will be different this year.
