We asked the stars: Why should we celebrate Christmas this year after a string of disasters?

We must continue to be strong. Christmas is the season of giving and sharing. Not celebrating Christmas would be like losing faith and hope. “Yolanda” left destruction in its wake, but it also brought not just our country, but the whole world together. We should help the survivors get back on their feet. Helping them this Christmas would be a great start.

Yes, the family will not be complete because some of us lost a dad, a son or a daughter to the earthquake or typhoon, but we should also be thankful because we survived. Let’s not lose hope.
