Baron Geisler is a barfly no more. Fresh from rehab, he has found inner peace.
“Life has become easier, stress-free and clear,” he says. “Gratitude changes attitude. I am so thankful to the people who still believe in me and who are giving me another chance to do what I love most, and that is acting.”
What’s the most important lesson he learned while in rehab? “I need to accept the things I can’t change and change the things I can,” Baron says. “I just need to take it one day at a time. I am not perfect. I am still a work in progress.”
What about the state of his heart? Has rehab changed his taste in women? “Love can wait for now,” he replies. “But I am praying to God that the next time around, He will give me a righteous and God-fearing woman who will inspire me to be a better person.”
What else does he yearn for? “I want to be consistent with what I’ve learned in rehab and be an inspiration to people who are struggling with addictions,” he points out. “One of my ultimate dreams is to be an endorser of products.”
What’s his message to detractors who doubt that he has changed for the better? “I would like to thank them for the wake-up call,” he says. “Because all eyes are on me now I should not be complacent. But I also want to remind them that I am only human. I may fall again but I learned that I can jump back and strive to be clean. Of course, only by God’s grace.” Baron no longer needs to go “bottoms up” to live it up.
No ‘bad boy’
In a previous column, I wrote that Aljur Abrenica turned down the offer to be part of the Cesar Montano-Philip Salvador starrer “Hitman.” But someone from the production team told me that it’s not exactly Aljur who nixed the project but the people around him. They’re not too keen about Aljur playing a “bad boy” role so the part went to Mark Herras instead.
But most of the time, actors shine more when they are good at playing bad.
Protective
During the Kapamilya Caravan event in Paris recently, Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez were billeted at a different hotel from where the other stars stayed. Mariel’s ex-boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo and girlfriend Bea Alonzo happened to be part of the group.
Even during the show, Mariel and Zanjoe did not cross paths. Binoe has always been protective when it comes to his woman because he very well knows the evil that men can do.
Fantasy drama
Catch GMA 7’s newest prime-time offering, “Iglot,” weeknights after “24 Oras.” The fantasy drama will show how love transcends all boundaries.
It follows the mystical adventures of a fluffy little creature named Iglot and how it can touch and transform lives.
Top-billed by Claudine Barretto, Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin, Luis Alandy, Pauleen Luna and Patrick Garcia, it dates back to the period of Mulawins after Aviona dropped the last unggiko egg in a volcano.
As the egg waits for this volcano to erupt, the life of its future caretaker in a different world also begins to take form. Watch Iglot hatch (heartwarming lessons of life and love).
Personal: Happy Birthday to my super fun and cool friend, Wilson Tieng, and to my “pangga Tito,” Aris Demavivas.
Birthday cheers to dashing entrepreneur Kenneth Dong of A-Source International Enterprise.
